Remove conditions on a 2-year green card (I-751)

Government fees

• I-751 (paper / online)$750 / $700

Timing

• File together with your spouse in the 90 days before the card expires. Not earlier
• The receipt notice extends your status for 48 months. Carry it with your card

Package

• Form I-751, signed by both of you
• Copy of the front and back of your green card
• Joint evidence from the last 2 years: lease or mortgage, bank statements, tax returns filed jointly, insurance, children's birth certificates
• Affidavits from people who know you as a couple, if you have little paperwork
• Divorced, widowed or abused? You can file alone with a waiver: read the instructions carefully
• Check the edition date at the bottom of each form page on uscis.gov. Old editions are rejected
• Sign every form by hand in black ink, keep a full copy, mail with tracking
